Saturday, September 14, 2024 | Mammoth Cave

In September, we will be traveling to Idaho’s Mammoth Cave (near Shoshone) and meet at 11:00am (from the Treasure Valley it takes about 2 ½ hours to get there). We will have a presentation about the formation of the caves and then we can tour Mammoth Cave which is open until 6:00p.m. Please bring a flashlight and a light jacket (the cave stays a consistent 41 degrees). We will then take a self-guided tour where you walk in ¼ mile and out a ¼ mile. The admission price includes the cave tour, Shoshone Bird Museum and Richard Arthur Olsen Museum of Natural History. Reviews mention plenty to see with these additional museums! They are not handicap accessible and do not allow dogs. The fee for the Museum is $15.00 for adults, 12 and under are $9.00 and 5 and under are free.

There will be a requested donation to FIGI of $5.00 per individual or $15.00 a family. You may pay with cash, check, or Venmo.
